Cambridge Cove Is A Gated Community
Cambridge Cove is a private, gated community and its streets and other common areas are privately owned by the Association. Unlike communities with publicly owned streets and rights of way, the Association has the right to restrict community access to Cambridge Cove’s residents and their guests.
The Association maintains entrance and exit gates with an access control system to help reduce unauthorized access to the community. However, an unguarded entrance cannot guarantee that unauthorized persons are prevented from entering the community.
Cambridge Cove residents can report suspicious activity to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office's non-emergency number 813-247-8200.
Resident Gate Access Options
- PIN Code Operation: Residents can enter their personal 4-digit PIN at the Call Box keypad to open the entrance gate.
- Gate Remote Opener: Use a gate remote (clicker) to open the gate.
Guest Gate Access Options
- Search Call Box Directory: Guests can search the alphabetical directory on the Call Box to find a resident's listing then press the [CALL] button to dial the resident's designated phone number. After the resident answers the incoming call from the Call Box, the resident can Press [9] on their phone to open the gate for their guest.
- Enter A Resident's Call Box Directory Number: Every resident’s listing in the Call Box directory is assigned a unique 3-digit directory number. Residents can give their guests this 3-digit number to call their phone number from the Call Box without searching the directory. View, print or download the Directory List.
Important, The call box requires directory numbers to be entered as a 3-digit number. For example, directory code 021, must be entered as "zero, two, one." When giving visitors your directory code, be sure to include the leading zeros.
Additional Information
- The 3-digit directory number is not confidential and can be given out freely. It is displayed along with your name on the Call Box Directory.
- If a guest calls a resident from their cell phone for gate access, pressing the [9] key on the resident's phone will NOT open the gate. Pressing the [9] key ONLY works on calls placed directly from the entrance Call Box. If a resident receives a cell phone call from a visitor at the gate, give them your 3-digit directory number and and have them call you from the call box.
- Avoid giving your confidential 4-digit entry PIN to guests or delivery drivers.
- Resident’s phone numbers are never displayed to guests using the Call Box.
- If your confidential 4-digit entry PIN has been compromised or you need to update your Call Box directory information, use the Members Only online form, Update Existing Gate Codes & Call Box Listings.
- Residents can order gate remotes from the Members Only page of the Website.
- County ordinance requires all gated communities to provide emergency services with special access to the community. When calling 911 for law enforcement or fire rescue services, the emergency operator will be automatically notified that your address is in a gated community.
